The red tomatoes in stores year-round are so tempting, and so disappointing. With all their energy spent seducing our eyes, there’s no flavor left for our tastebuds.  That’s why tomatoes grace the Squeeze Play! menu only when they’re in season, picked ripe (rather than greenhouse-grown and gassed to a red hue), and truly flavorful. Abundant Harvest tomatoes arrive earliest, in May or June, and this coming week Suzie’s Farm tomatoes, grown in a cooler coastal climate, make their debut on the Squeeze Play! menu. Lori in La Jolla received Abundant Harvest tomatoes on Wednesday, and reported back: I’m loving the tomatoes! Finally a tomato with real flavor!
